Montezuma Castle - 1hr 20mins
Situated 50 feet above the valley floor and standing 5 stories tall, The Montezuma Castle is a gorgeous architectural relic from the past. Built into the side of a limestone cliff by the Sinagua, a Native American tribe that occupied the site until around 1425 AD, this monument is not one to miss. Today, visitors can expect to see a variety of plants and wildlife while touring the walking trails near the cliff-side dwelling. Then discover all the creative ways the Sinagua thrived here by visiting the on-site museum containing artifacts and information.
Meteor Crater - 2hrs 40mins
50,000 years ago a meteorite came crashing down to Earth and left its mark here forever. Nearly one mile across and over 500 feet deep, this area is now known as Meteor Crater. Today this site gets visitors from all over the world and contains enough activities to last more than just a day. With both guided and self-guided tours of the crater rim, 24 interactive exhibits in the on-site discovery center, a gift shop, and a rock shop, there is plenty to see until the sun goes down and the real show begins with the excellent stargazing.
Grand Canyon National Park - 3hrs 30mins
You’ve heard of it, you've seen the pictures, now it’s time to take the trip out and see this true wonder. This park contains all the best for those who love outdoor activities. Kayaking, fishing, boating, camping, horseback riding, and more are all available along with some of the best hikes and backpacking trails. Going up to 18 miles wide and 1 mile deep, it’s no surprise that this landmark is truly one of the seven Natural Wonders of the World and worth the trip. While some activities require a permit, Grand Canyon National Park is open 365 days a year and ready to wow you when you arrive.
Mt Lemmon Ski Valley - 3hrs 15mins
Who says you can’t go skiing in the desert? One of the 3 ski resorts here in Arizona, Mt Lemmon is perfect for getting in your winter-themed activities at any time of the year. Containing 21 runs on over 200 acres, excellent dining, a gift shop, and more, this is sure to be a great day trip during those extra warm months.
